Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about NEO and about this site.

What is NEO?

NEO is a humanoid robot developed by 1X Technologies and marketed for household use. It stands about 5'6", weighs around 66 lb and is covered in a soft knitted suit.

How much does NEO cost?

The manufacturer lists two plans: a $499 per month subscription (Standard) and a $20,000 Early Access purchase. Both are reserved with a $200 refundable deposit.

Is the deposit refundable?

According to the manufacturer, yes — the $200 deposit is fully refundable up to the point your robot is ready for delivery. Always confirm the current terms at checkout.

When will NEO ship?

US deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026, starting with Early Access customers. International deliveries are expected later.

What can NEO do at launch?

Announced tasks include fetching items, opening doors, tidying, putting dishes away, turning off lights, watering plants and carrying laundry. Capabilities are expected to expand via software updates.

Does NEO work fully on its own?

Not entirely. Early units combine on-board AI with the option for trained remote operators to assist with tasks the robot cannot yet complete alone.

Is NEO safe around children and pets?

The design prioritises safety: light weight, padded lattice body, enclosed joints and back-drivable actuators. However, there is no long-term in-home safety record yet, so supervision is sensible.

Can I buy NEO on this website?

No. x1neo.icu is an independent review site. We do not sell robots or take deposits. Purchases are made directly with the manufacturer.
